| I recently bought a laptop: Acer Aspire E1-570G
It has a dedicated GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GT 720M and also had Intel HD Graphics 4000
From what I've read the HD graphics come from the CPU, which seems odd but hey, I know very little about laptops. The CPU is: Intel core i3-3217u(1.8GHz, 3MB L3 cache).
In device manager, both GPU's are enabled. I'm getting constant messages to update drivers. I have updated both the HD400 and the Geforce GT 720M.
When I disable the HD400 Graphics, fps in Hearthstone (very low GPU requirements) drops to 1-2fps, even worse in WoW. When both are enabled, things work fine but I keep getting told to update GPU drivers.
Does anyone know if both should be enabled?
I bought the laptop to play wow in the background, that's why I got one with a proper GPU.

| It probably has Nvidia Optimus which basically chooses which GPU to use depending on what you are doing on the laptop. Don't know why it keeps asking you to update though. But yes both should be on. Not sure how good Optimus is now but when i had Alienware M11x it would set some games to use the onboard so had to go into Nvidia control panel and set games to run off the 720M rather than the HD4000.

| Ace, thanks very much for the info Bob. I'll have a look in the NVIDIA control panel and try find out what's going on.

| Think I finally found the correct HD400 driver, so I guess it should be sorted now and fingers crossed I don't get any more update driver messages.
